Katie Mullins Denk is a 500-hour Kripalu Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and Reiki II practitioner—and the heart behind Moonflower Yoga + Ayurveda Studio. As founder, owner, and wear-er of many (many!) hats, Katie lovingly offers a variety of ways to practice and connect, including weekly yoga classes, monthly Full Moon and New Moon yoga workshops, community circles, and private 1:1 sessions in yoga, breathwork, meditation, and Ayurvedic wellness. She also creates Moonflower’s line of handcrafted aromatherapy sprays, yoga mat cleaner, and tea blends to support your practice beyond the mat.
With over 1,500 hours of training in Yoga and Ayurveda, Katie teaches primarily through the lens of Kripalu Yoga—the yoga of compassion—while weaving in elements of Iyengar and Ashtanga. Her classes often blend gentle flow with yin and restorative practices, creating a balanced, nourishing experience for body and nervous system alike. Rooted in the wisdom of Ayurveda, her teachings include posture, breath, intention, and meditation to help bring harmony to the doshas and to the rhythms of the natural world. Katie deeply believes that yoga is for every body, and her all-levels classes offer thoughtful variations and props so everyone can feel supported, safe, and at home in their practice.
In her private sessions, Katie meets clients exactly where they are, listening with care and co-creating experiences that feel accessible, empowering, and deeply supportive. She especially loves working with people navigating digestive challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, and women’s health, offering practical tools they can gently integrate into everyday life.
Moonflower was born from Katie’s own healing journey through chronic pain, trauma, burnout, and substance use disorder. Creating a heart-centered, inclusive community is her way of giving back and sharing the profound healing she has experienced through Yoga and Ayurveda.
Katie holds an MBA from Tulane University and a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. She is also a classically trained singer and an experienced traveler, having lived in four states and explored more than 20 countries. She brings a rich background in marketing, promotions, and event planning—spanning over a decade and ranging from small, intimate gatherings to large-scale events.
When she’s not in the studio, you’ll likely find Katie spending time with her husband, two dogs and cat, enjoying her backyard, singing, cooking, crafting, and dreaming up her next adventure.
